I grew up watching the Dic dub of Sailor Moon before eventually watching (and converting to) the original Japanese dub. My first experience playing a Sailor Moon character online was Sailor Mercury on AOL (this was back when I was watching the DIC dub in the 90s, LOL). My Sailor Mercury blasted away with her Mercury Bubbles Blast and Shine Aqua Illusion before obtaining the blue Rainbow Crystal which was revealed to be the Mercury Sapphire Crystal and transformed her into Princess Mercury. That experience stood out to me because I knew very little of Sailor Moon and its lore outside of the Dic series.

As an avid Sailor Moon fan, I collected trading cards and playing cards which is where I discovered different versions of Sailor Moon outside of her Prism and Crystal incarnations. What was this heart locket she wore? What kind of stories were going on?! I read online about Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up! Which I thought was corny compared to my English dub! (Oh how naïve I was then LOL). I watched the DIC dub and read the Tokyopop/Mixxzine manga before discovering the Japanese version by buying the Sailor Moon Movies on VHS in 1999 (Geez that was 18 years ago!). It was at this moment I realized that DIC/Pioneer had it wrong, the source material was so much better in my opinion! It was only then that I truly understood Sailor Moon.
I even watched the tokusatsu series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon when it first debuted in 2003 (I was so disappointed it was only for one season!) Over the years I have downloaded all the Sailor Moon manga translated by Miss Dream, the Artbooks from MangaStyle, and all the episodes and movies of the original 90s anime and the three seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal and the Eternal movies.

La Soldier has been an ongoing project of mine for some years now and is near and dear to my heart. It all begins with an idea. I initially created an RP called Sailor Wars which was meant to serve as a continuation to Sailor Moon Sailor Stars anime. I wanted to include characters from the manga such as Sailor Chaos, Heavy Metal Papillon, Sailor Phi, Sailor Chi, and Sailor Lethe/Mnemosyne. It also brought back characters who weren’t killed in the original anime such as Jadeite, Esmeraude, and Eudial.

Sailor Chaos in the form of Chaos Galaxia comes to take the Star/Sailor Crystals from the Sailor Soldiers. This RP never saw the light of day. It wouldn’t be until a few years later when I created La Soldier which was set in Paris and it was later retooled to become Mare Serenitatis.
The the story initially only focused on the past and the Dark Kingdom Arc, I also didn’t have a solid direction I wanted the story to go in and it didn’t have the right feel for me.
The project was short-lived and was shuttered to be re-tooled and expanded into the La Soldier it is now.
